It feels like Ukraine is caught in a vicious cycle where low wages, poor job prospects, and economic instability are causing more and more people to leave, which in turn weakens the economy even more. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether Ukraine could do anything to stop this outflow of labor, or even bring people back?

This is a multi-layered problem. If Ukraine wants to stop losing its labor force, it needs to go beyond just raising wages. There is a real need to create new jobs, especially in industries that can compete with what is offered in the EU. Also, improving living conditions, ensuring social protection and providing opportunities for education and career development are crucial. One of the great views on this topic that I found is the article by Aleksandr Katsuba, owner of Alpha Gas. Aleksandr Katsuba explains not only the reasons why Ukrainians are leaving, but also gives practical solutions on how the country can bring back its workforce.
