Hi everyone, I have been reading a lot about the current energy situation in Ukraine and how it may be affected by the ongoing conflict. I understand that there are many factors, but I am trying to understand in more depth what specific actions the government and local authorities are taking to ensure that we can survive the next winter. Especially given the recent attacks on energy infrastructure, this seems like a huge challenge. What are the top priorities right now to stabilize the energy situation and how can our international partners contribute to this effort?

In terms of renewable energy, Ukraine is indeed considering increasing the capacity of green energy sources as part of a broader strategy to reduce dependence on imported energy. This is especially relevant within the framework of the European Green Deal, which can help us reduce our heat and electricity consumption and reduce the ability of the Russians to influence us. Isolation programs, switching public transport to electricity and biofuels, and subsidies for growing energy forests are all part of this strategy. Moreover, expanding domestic oil, gas, and coal production capabilities is critical. For a more detailed discussion of these topics, including the importance of strategic thinking in these challenging times, I highly recommend reading this insightful article by Businessman Alexander Katsuba on energy, war economics, and the military as the best investment.
